We will be covering the basics of finance, the most important calculations and ratios in investing, how a mortgage works, how a wrap works mathematically, calculating returns, mathematical analysis of a deal, how hard money works, and how to communicate with lenders.
The second half of the class will be focused on passive investing strategies, and how to make your money work for you! We will discuss both long term and short term passive investing. We’ll go over passive investing strategies that fit almost any investing budget whether it’s a small IRA or a vast fortune.
Brent Mott
Brent Mott was born and raised in Central Texas, and has lived in every major metro in the state. Brent earned a BBA in Economics from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and an MBA in Marketing from Texas Tech University.
Brent’s professional career started at Ken Batchelor Cadillac, where he was a top producing salesperson. After 4 years in high-end retail sales, Brent realized that corporate America was not for him. After he did his first deal as a Big Dog, Brent quit his corporate job to become a full-time real estate investor.
Brent started investing in real estate in 2010, but when he joined Big Dog in January of 2014 things really took off. Brent has done all but 3 of the 12 strategies taught in Big Dog (he’s never needed an Auction Option; Lease Options are functionally illegal in Texas; he always out-negotiates equity partnering with seller). Brent became an expert in marketing for motivated sellers and uses his lifelong experience in sales and constant study in human and behavioral psychology to become an expert in sales and negotiation.
